Homecoming is an annual week-long series of events held on the beautiful main campus of Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina. Events are held throughout campus all week long culminating with the Homecoming Football game and the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen.
The Chancellor's Brunch and Alumni Awards Ceremony included presentation of the Distinguished Service Award to Susan Brummell Belcher, wife of late WCU Chancellor David O. Belcher, and honors for alumni Mary Beth Fallin Hunzaker, Kenny Messer and Elizabeth Ransom.
Hannah Sink, a senior from Kernersville majoring in communication sciences and disorders, and Jonah Weston, a junior from Raleigh majoring in communication, are the university's new Homecoming queen and king.
Three Western Carolina University alumni were recognized for their achievements and a former chair of the WCU Board of Trustees received one of the highest honors bestowed by the university, the Distinguished Service Award, as part of Homecoming activities on campus.
