University of North Carolina System President Margaret Spellings has approved the leadership statement drafted by the 22-member committee that is conducting the search for Western Carolina University’s next chancellor.
February was a big month for Western Carolina University as a record number of faculty, students, staff, friends and alumni showed their love by giving or pledging more than $600,000 during the second annual “I Love WCU” initiative, which ran from Feb.1-28.
The research prowess and creative work of Western Carolina University’s undergraduate and graduate students will be showcased during the annual Research and Scholarship Celebration, with oral and poster presentations, keynote speakers and receptions scheduled across campus over a two-day period – Wednesday, March 21, and Thursday, March 22.
Seven members of the Western Carolina University student body have been chosen to serve as Diversity Student Ambassadors and will focus on peer education around diversity and inclusion by developing and assisting with programs directed at all communities on campus.
The Western Carolina University Board of Trustees designated three existing surface parking lots as sites for possible future parking structures in preparation for an anticipated increase in student enrollment in the years ahead.
