Professor urges eclipse watchers to check glasses

Enrique Gomez, associate professor of physics and astronomy at Western Carolina University, is reminding members of the public who plan to view the solar eclipse on Monday, Aug. 21, to use only certified eclipse glasses in order to prevent serious eye damage.

Costa Rican students take part in summer program

Sixteen students from Tecnologico de Costa Rica, a university in Costa Rica, recently spent three weeks on the Western Carolina University campus to take part in a summertime language and culture program offered through WCU’s Intensive English Program.
