Sharon Metcalfe, associate professor in WCU’s School of Nursing, recently presented “Collaborative Pediatric International Cultural Learning: Mutual Learning Success” at the 28th International Conference on Pediatric Nursing and Healthcare in Edinburgh, Scotland.
“College Experiences of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians,” an article by Rebecca Lasher, WCU assistant professor of social work, and Don Good, a 1978 alumnus of WCU and professor of educational leadership at East Tennessee State University, was published in volume 33 of the Research in Higher Education Journal.
Two WCU alumni and certified registered nurse anesthetists, Alwin Heuer and Jason Riley, along with two faculty members in WCU’s School of Nursing, Mark A. Kossick and Ian Hewer, authored an article titled “Update on Guidelines for Perioperative Antibiotic Selection and Administration from the Surgical Care Improvement Project and American Society of Health-System Pharmacists” that was published in the August issue of the AANA Journal, the scholarly publication of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
Bobby Moranda, WCU head baseball coach, recently appeared on a 7-minute segment of the “Rockies Pregame Report” that was broadcast on AT&T Sportsnet, the television home of Major League Baseball’s Colorado Rockies.
