Andrew Bobilya, associate professor and director of WCU’s Parks and Recreation Management Program, and Resa Chandler, assistant professor in the Health and Physical Education Program, recently published a paper with co-authors from Prescott College, Montreat College and the Millbrook School.
The musical“Carretera de Avilés(Road to Avilés)”had its world premiere Aug. 22 in Asturias, Spain. All the narrative texts of the musical were written by Santiago García-Castañón, WCU professor of Spanish.
Mark A. Kossick, WCU professor of nursing and director of graduate programs at the university’s Biltmore Park instructional site, presented six lectures at an international conference held in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, on May 21-22 and 24-25.
Sharon Metcalfe, associate professor in WCU’s School of Nursing, was invited to present her work on “Social Determinants and Educational Barriers for Minority and Rural Students for Nursing School Admission” on Aug. 29 at the 17th annual World Nursing Congress in Zurich, Switzerland.
Christina L. Reitz, WCU associate professor of music, published her article “Civil War, Civil Words: An Exploration of Jennifer Higdon’s Song Cycle” in the peer-reviewed Journal of the International Alliance for Women in Music.
