Students seeking degrees in the emergency medical care field at Western Carolina University will now have some help paying the cost of their educations, thanks to a pledge of $1.035 million from a Durham husband and wife establishing an endowed scholarship fund in honor of their late daughter.
Vittal Anantatmula, professor and director of Western Carolina University’s Master of Project Management Program, was selected to receive a 2018 Endeavor Executive Fellowship, allowing him to conduct research at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in Australia.
In its eighth year of rankings, Military Times lists Western Carolina University as 82nd among more than 600 technical schools, colleges and universities evaluated as a good fit for service members, military veterans and their families.
