A WCU student organization is sponsoring a day of silence and march on Friday, April 15, as a show of support for people who have been silenced by bullying, harassment and assault as a result of their sexuality or gender identity.
WCU English professor Mimi Fenton recently became president of the Milton Society of America, an organization with hundreds of members from around the world committed to furthering scholarship on and promoting the exchange of ideas about English poet John Milton.
Western Carolina University fraternities and sororities will perform in Whee Rock, a lip-sync and dance competition to raise money for three philanthropic organizations, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, March 24, in the Liston B. Ramsey Activity Center.
Attendees will be able to try out the newest models of whitewater kayaks and get tips on kayak skills from area instructors. The event also includes a freestyle competition called the “Slab Town Throw Down” and a ducky race.
