Arthur Salido, WCU’s executive director of community and economic engagement and innovation, graduated from Leadership North Carolina, a prestigious program with a mission to inform, develop and engage committed leaders by broadening their understanding of and involvement in issues and opportunities facing North Carolina.
Recognition for four graduating students with perfect GPAs, presentation of an award to one of the UNC System’s premier teachers, and the inspiring success stories of two other graduating students were among the highlights.
Mark A. Kossick, WCU professor of nursing and director of graduate programs in nursing at the university’s Biltmore Park instructional site, presented a three-hour “Advanced EKG Workshop” on March 20 at the 23rd annual Louis A. Cancellaro Primary Care Conference in Johnson City, Tennessee.
Elizabeth McRae, WCU associate professor of history, was honored as recipient of the 2019 Frederick Jackson Turner Award during the recent annual meeting of the Organization of American Historians held in Philadelphia.
Mark A. Kossick, a WCU professor of nursing who directs nursing graduate programs and also is anesthesia simulation education coordinator, presented six hours of lectures March 22 as a visiting professor at East Carolina University.
