The 2017-18 Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers returns to Cullowhee on Tuesday, March 13, with the showing of “Quest” at 7 p.m. in Western Carolina University’s A.K. Hinds University Center theater.
The tour is presented by South Arts, a regional arts organization that serves nine southeastern states. Filmmakers on the Southern Circuit are from all over the U.S.
“Quest” is a portrait of a family in North Philadelphia whose journey is a profound testament to love, healing and hope. Christopher “Quest” Rainey and his wife Christine’a, also known as “Ma Quest,” open the door to their home music studio, which becomes a creative sanctuary from the struggles that encompass their neighborhood. Over the years, the family evolves as everyday life brings a mixture of joy and unexpected crisis.
The showing is free and open to the public.
