“The Year of the Dog,” a celebration of the Lunar New Year, will offer cultural performances, hand-crafted items and samples of traditional Asian cuisine from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15, in the Grandroom of Western Carolina University’s A.K. Hinds University Center.
Also called Chinese New Year and Spring Festival, Lunar New Year is the most important traditional Asian holiday. This year – 2018 – is the Chinese “Year of the Dog.”
Admission is free for WCU students, faculty, staff and families.
The DegreePlus event is sponsored by WCU’s Office of International Programs and Services, Asian Student Association, International Faculty and Staff Council, Office of the Chief Diversity Officer, Department of Campus Activities, WC Chinese Group and We Walk Together Group.
