Sylva native, slam poet champion coming to WCU

Carlos Robson, slam poet champ and spoken-word artist, comes to WCU for a Wednesday, Nov. 15, performance.

Western Carolina University will welcome home Carlos Robson, a spoken-word artist and slam poet champion originally from Sylva, for a Wednesday, Nov. 15, performance on campus.

The 7 p.m. event in A.K. Hinds University Center’s Illusions Club is free and open to the public.

Robson is a Broadway performer, twice winner of the National Poetry Slam and twice nominated as the Association of Campus Promotions’ “Spoken Word Artist of the Year.” He has performed at more than 50 colleges and universities, and is a founder of the Charlotte-based artist collective, The Concrete Generation.
