Western Carolina University’s Staff Senate will be administering its biennial staff survey Monday, Oct. 9, through Friday, Oct. 20.
The survey is designed to collect opinions from WCU staff members about working at the university in general, as well as information about interactions with supervisors and colleagues, diversity, and balance between work and family commitments. By taking the survey, staff members allow the Staff Senate to proactively identify issues and advocate for change with university leadership, said Shauna Young, a staff senator and director of marketing and assessment in WCU’s Division of Student Affairs.
Staff members will receive an email inviting them to complete the survey. It also will be available in hard copy.
Results from the survey are shared with university leadership and the campus community. Information gained from past surveys has impacted the availability of training opportunities for staff, brought attention to diversity-related matters, and increased onboarding support for new employees, Young said.
