Noble Hall cafe-bookstore hosting Cooper, Denson on Aug. 31

MadStone Cafe & Catching Light Books, the combination eatery and bookstore located in Western Carolina University’s Noble Hall, will host a reception for two WCU faculty authors at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 31.

Chris Cooper, professor and head of WCU’s Department of Political Science and Public Affairs, who co-authored “The Resilience of Southern Identity: Why the South Still Matters in the Minds of its People,” and Andrew Denson, associate professor of history and author of “Monuments to Absence: Cherokee Removal and the Contest over Southern Memory,” will be on hand to discuss their work and sign books.
