Assembly Quartet to perform Nov. 15 at WCU

Western Carolina University’s School of Music will present an evening concert on campus by the Assembly Quartet on Tuesday, Nov. 15.

The 7:30 p.m. performance in the recital hall of the Coulter Building is free and open to the public.

The saxophone ensemble is made up of Adam Estes of the University of Mississippi, Jeffrey Heisler of Oakland University, Matt Younglove of Wayne State University and Ian Jeffress, WCU professor of saxophone.

The performance will include the world premiere of a newly commissioned work by Marc Mellits, an American composer and musician known for his post-minimalist styles and rock influences, and conclude with Bohemian composer Antonin Dvorak’s “American Quartet.”
