WCU offering grant-writing program in Asheville

Western Carolina University’s Office of Continuing and Professional Education is offering a grant-writing certificate program in Asheville beginning Wednesday, Nov. 2, and continuing through Friday, Nov. 4.

The program will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day at WCU’s instructional site at Biltmore Park Town Square.

The program is designed to allow participants to learn how to conduct internet research, improve their writing skills and produce high-quality grant proposals. Nationally recognized grant writer Jack Smith will lead the program the first two days, covering topics such as proposal development and grant abstracts. Susan Fouts, executive director of educational outreach at WCU, will lead the third day of the program and focus on grant proposals.
