The Smoky Mountain Quilters Guild will hold its biennial quilt show at Western Carolina University’s Ramsey Regional Activity Center beginning Thursday, Sept. 22, and concluding on Mountain Heritage Day, set for Saturday, Sept. 24.

The quilt show will have more than 300 quilts from members and nonmembers alike on exhibit, plus vendors and a book table, and feature several fundraising events, including a silent auction and quilt raffle.

WCU’s 42nd annual Mountain Heritage Day is a free, family-oriented festival celebrating Cherokee and Southern Appalachian culture through a full schedule of mountain music, fun activities, more than 100 booths of the region’s finest arts and crafts, and vendors offering ethnic, heritage and festival food.

Admission to the quilt show is $7 per day and free to any student, faculty or staff member holding a WCU identification card. Opportunities to exhibit a quilt is extended to anyone and membership in the guild is not required.
