Western Carolina University’s Christopher “Adam” Ray recently received the 2015 Outstanding Graduate Student award from the North Carolina College Personnel Association.

A Cullowhee native, Ray is seeking a master’s degree in WCU’s Higher Education Student Affairs Program and plans to graduate in May. He also is president of WCU’s Graduate Student Association.

“I am extremely honored to have received this award and grateful for the support from faculty members and administrative staff who served as a reference for me in this process,” Ray said. “This award will not only help to showcase the HESA program here at WCU, but it will also greatly assist me in my journey towards becoming an effective senior-level administrator in higher education.”

Ray received the reward at the NCCPA annual conference Oct. 30 at Elon University.
