Western Carolina University’s chapter of the Sigma Xi scientific research society will feature WCU psychology professor Hal Herzog during its first “Science Cafe” event Wednesday, Nov. 11, in Sylva.
Herzog will present a talk titled “Love for Pets: Biophilia or Cultural Transmission?” at 6 p.m. at Mad Batter Food and Film.
Herzog is author of “Some We Love, Some We Hate, Some We Eat: Why It’s So Hard to Think Straight About Animals” and is frequently quoted by the national media about the relationships between people and their pets and other animals.
