WCU crew heading out to Greensboro, Charlotte, Raleigh

Western Carolina University is hitting the road to give prospective college students in Greensboro, Charlotte and Raleigh an idea of campus life in Cullowhee.

WCU on Tour is a series of information sessions that provides a chance for students to speak informally with university representatives about topics such as academic majors, admission, financial aid, scholarships, residential living, student life, academic support and the Honors College.

The sessions are designed for high school students, parents and school counselors, as well as those interested in transferring to WCU or enrolling in graduate study or distance education programs.

Registration and check-in at each event will begin at 6 p.m. Following a presentation at 7:15 p.m., individuals will get an opportunity to speak with university representatives.

The WCU on Tour event locations are:

Greensboro — Monday, Sept. 14; Embassy Suites Greensboro, 204 Centreport Drive.

Charlotte — Tuesday, Sept. 15; Embassy Suites Ayrsley, 1917 Ayrsley Town Blvd.

Raleigh — Wednesday, Sept. 16; North Raleigh Hilton, 3415 Wake Forest Road.

The sessions are free. Students are asked to register at ontour.wcu.edu or by calling the WCU Office of Undergraduate Admission at 877-928-4968. Online registration ends at 5 p.m. the day prior to the events, but registration will be available at the door.

In addition to the WCU on Tour sessions, the university offers Open House events on campus on select Saturdays to give students and their family and friends a chance to attend an information fair, learn about academic programs and go on a campus tour. Registration and more information about fall 2015 Open House events scheduled for Oct. 31 and Nov. 14 are available at openhouse.wcu.edu.
