Accountancy program fall banquet set for Sept. 18

Western Carolina University’s accountancy program will hold its annual fall banquet at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at The Waynesville Inn in Waynesville.

Billy Moore, who was recently named chief financial officer of Grant Thornton, will be the featured speaker. Prior to that, Moore was a professional standards partner for Grant Thornton’s Carolinas practice in Charlotte. With 40 years of experience in public accounting, Moore works with Grant Thornton partners to ensure the company delivers services that are important to executive management and the board.

WCU master of accountancy students and members of the WCU chapter of Beta Alpha Psi can attend the banquet free of charge. For all others, the cost is $35. The event is open to the public.
