May 5 concert to feature trumpeters from two WCUs

Trumpet players from two WCUs – Western Carolina University and West Chester University – will be featured as the Mountain Winds Community Band presents its final concert of the season Tuesday, May 5, at Western Carolina’s John W. Bardo Fine and Performing Arts Center.

The performance will begin at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free.

The concert program includes a trumpet duet showcasing the talents of Brad Ulrich, Western Carolina professor of music, and Jean-Christophe Dobrzelewski, associate professor on the West Chester music faculty in Pennsylvania.

The Mountain Winds band is composed of local residents and Western Carolina faculty members. Organized by the staff of Western Carolina’s Pride of the Mountains Marching Band in 2011, the ensemble is open to Western North Carolina adults with college or high school band experience.
