Western Carolina University has engineered the higher education equivalent of an express lane for prospective students interested in enrolling in a new bachelor’s degree program in engineering that will begin offering classes at Biltmore Park this fall.
WCU will host an “instant decision day” from 3:30 until 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, at its instructional site at Biltmore Park Town Square.
Representatives of the university’s Kimmel School of Construction Management and Technology will be on hand to answer questions about the program, and admissions counselors will be available to offer same-day decisions to students who apply that day.
Ten students who enroll on or before July 22 will be selected to receive $500 scholarships.
The new program, an extension of WCU’s Cullowhee-based undergraduate engineering program, offers evening courses designed for students who are currently working or who are enrolled in community college classes.
Expansion of WCU’s engineering education program to the fast-growing corridor between Asheville and Hendersonville is designed to help meet increasing industry and business demand for a highly qualified workforce.
