The Haywood County Board of Realtors recently presented a $1,000 gift to Western Carolina University’s College of Business in recognition of the support the college’s students and faculty have provided for the board and for Haywood’s economic development initiatives.
Two representatives from the Haywood board, Executive Director Lisa Brown and President Billy Case, presented a check to Interim Dean Louis Buck, Associate Dean Ken Flynt and Associate Professor Bob Carton of WCU’s College of Business.
“The college is deeply engaged in the economic support of Haywood County as a whole and has rendered vital leadership in strategic planning for the county’s business community,” Case said. “Their guidance has been invaluable to our board and will benefit the entire area because of the critical role real estate plays in its economic success.”
Other recent services provided by WCU business students and faculty include assisting the Haywood County Chamber of Commerce in conducting an economic impact study to help area businesses find new ways to meet today’s business challenges.
