Gov. Perdue adviser Mac McCorkle to visit April 28

Mac McCorkle, a policy and research consultant to Gov. Beverly Perdue and many other political candidates, will visit Western Carolina University for a campus dialogue at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 28, in the Multipurpose Room of the A.K. Hinds University Center.

Founder of McCorkle Policy Consulting, McCorkle has worked on the campaigns of former N.C. Gov. Mike Easley, Missouri Gov. Bob Holden, Tennessee Gov. Phil Bredesen, Arizona Gov. Janet Napolitano, and N.C. Congressman David Price.

He joined the Raleigh law firm of Everett, Gaskins, Hancock and Stevens in 1992 and later joined the law firm founded by former N.C. Gov. and U.S. Sen. Terry Sanford. His clients have included the N.C. Association of Educators and the Low-Wealth Schools Consortium.

McCorkle graduated from Princeton University and Duke University School of Law. He  teaches as an adjunct instructor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Davidson College.
