Offices on the Western Carolina University campus in Cullowhee will be closed for the holidays beginning Thursday, Dec. 24, and continuing through Sunday, Jan. 3.
Offices will reopen at 8 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 4.
The university is being closed for an extended period during the holidays to allow building temperatures to be lowered, achieving significant energy savings.
The WCU Programs in Asheville office will be closed, along with the University of North Carolina at Asheville, from Saturday, Dec. 19, through Jan. 3.
Campus police in Cullowhee will be on duty throughout the holidays and can be reached at (828) 227-7301 or, in case of an emergency, at (828) 227-8911. Maintenance work being done on the campus telephone system from 8 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 29, may result in a 20-minute outage on campus during that period. If an outage occurs, campus police can be reached by cell phone at (828) 371-6051.
