Western Carolina University will hold “The Great Timesaver: Make Meetings Work” from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, Jan. 21, in Room 143 of the Camp Building.
Marsha Crites, known as “the Meeting Doctor,” will discuss how to plan productive meetings, use conflicting ideas to help reach consensus and produce creative ideas that can lead to action.
“Good meetings can enliven and energize your people and your organization. Bad meetings can literally take your organization apart,” said Crites, who holds a master’s degree in social work and has facilitated groups and meetings for the past 30 years. She also is a “green meeting” consultant and will share ideas for environmentally responsible meeting plans.
The cost of the workshop is $59.
Organizations that plan to have more than three people in attendance or organizations that need to be invoiced should contact Susan Fouts, WCU director of continuing education, at (800) 928-4968 or (828) 227-7397 for more information.
