Western Carolina University will offer a “Hike with a Botanist” workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday, July 16.
Participants will meet at WCU and travel to the Highlands Biological Station in Highlands, where they will learn about the rich botanical diversity of the Southern Appalachians from one of the facility’s botanists. The group will follow a leisurely pace and a picnic lunch will be provided.
The Highlands Biological Station is an inter-institutional research center of the University of North Carolina.
