Freshman leadership group hosts 5K on April 25 for Cullowhee Revitalization

The Western Carolina University Freshman Leadership Institute will host a 5K campus run at 4 p.m. Friday, April 25, to help kick off the annual campus spring carnival and raise money for CuRvE, the Cullowhee Revitalization Endeavour.

The run will begin at the intramural field across from Ramsey Regional Activity Center and end near the carnival, which offers games and rides for children and adults of all ages.

Registration for the 5K on the day of the event is $12 for students and $15 for all others. The top three finishers will win gift certificates to area businesses and restaurants, said Brandon Ward, event coordinator and a freshman from Charlotte.

“Come out and join us,” said Ward. “It’s a beautiful course that surrounds the campus, and the money that is raised for CuRvE will support efforts to make our community a better place to live.”
