CULLOWHEE – Western Carolina University Chancellor John W. Bardo will discuss the current and future position of the university in a “State of the University” address, which he will present to the university community in Cullowhee and to a potential state, regional and worldwide audience on the Web.
The speech, scheduled for 2 p.m. in Western’s Ramsey Regional Activity Center on Thursday, Jan. 29, will provide a comprehensive look at where the university is now and where it is headed. Bardo will outline his vision for Western in terms of academic excellence, student recruitment and retention, faculty accomplishments, community engagement, core values, growth opportunities, career-focused programs, key administrative changes and more.
While Western’s faculty, staff and students are listening to the address in person at the Ramsey Center, Bardo’s comments also will be available to Western North Carolina radio listeners at WWCU, located at 90.5 on the FM dial. Members of the university community, alumni, area residents and others who cannot attend in person and computer users everywhere who have access to audio and video on the Web can get a “seat” for this event at http://ustream.wcu.edu/stateoftheuniversity.
After Jan. 29, the audio, video, and full text of the chancellor’s “State of the University” address will be available on the university’s home page at www.wcu.edu.
