Trustees approve proposed tuition, fees for 2010-11

Western Carolina University’s board of trustees approved proposed tuition and fees for 2010-11, including a 6.5 percent increase in campus-based tuition that would fund programs providing additional support to students during their freshman and sophomore years to help keep them on track to graduate.

Groundbreaking for health sciences building set for Sept. 3

The groundbreaking ceremony for a $46 million, 160,000-square-foot health sciences building – the first facility to be constructed as part of Western Carolina University’s Millennial Initiative – will be held Thursday, Sept. 3, at the construction site off of Little Savannah Road. Parking is not available at the site.

Welcome! We have an exciting year ahead of us and I look forward to working with you to implement the major accomplishments that this University, and especially the faculty, started last year. I am especially excited about the very important QEP and the revised tenure and promotion standards.

WCU’s Millennial Initiative wins approval of UNC Board

The University of North Carolina Board of Governors today (Friday, May 12) approved Millennial Campus designation for 344 acres of property adjacent to Western Carolina University's main campus, endorsing Western's plans to create a “knowledge enterprise zone” designed to enhance educational opportunities while promoting economic development for the mountain region.
