Nazario-Colón named to governor’s advisory council

Ricardo Nazario-Colón, WCU’s chief diversity officer, has been appointed to serve as an at-large member of the Governor’s Advisory Council on Hispanic/Latino Affairs by N.C. Gov. Roy Cooper.

The governor recently signed a proclamation declaring Sept. 15-Oct. 15 Hispanic Heritage Month in North Carolina. He also signed an executive order establishing the advisory council.

Nazario-Colón, who also serves on the advisory board for WCU’s Cherokee Center, joined the WCU staff in June 2016.
