This will be Ulrich’s 10th trip to Russia since first traveling there with the Smoky Mountain Brass Quintet in 2005. He will be performing and teaching with the Fortress Brass Quintet, an ensemble formed in 2013 and composed of five top brass musicians from five American universities, and joined in Russia by the Faculty Woodwind Quintet from Colorado State University. The two ensembles will take part in the world premiere of a new Russian musical revue, “Smart Cats,” in the Aurora Hall in St. Petersburg.

Ulrich will participate in giving brass and woodwind masterclasses and clinics for Russian students at the St. Petersburg and Moscow Conservatories.
