P. Bradley Ulrich, WCU professor of trumpet, will be hosting the American College Trumpet Teachers Forum on the university’s campus Wednesday, Aug. 2, through Friday, Aug. 4.
Ulrich founded the event eight years ago and each year invites eight university trumpet teachers from around the U.S. to attend the intensive conference that features sessions on creating syllabi, grading trumpet students, new teaching methods in the private trumpet studio, and organizing a university trumpet studio. The event is the only conference in the world that deals specifically with teaching trumpet on the collegiate level.
In addition to Ulrich, this year’s participants include David Ginn, WCU adjunct professor of trumpet. Other participants are coming from Troy University, the University of Alabama, Jacksonville State University, Appalachian State University, the University of Louisville, Eastern Illinois University and Valdosta State University.
