Dean to perform in festival presentation of ‘Enoch Arden’

Western Carolina University’s John W. Bardo Fine and Performing Arts Center will present Alfred Lord Tennyson’s “Enoch Arden: A Melodrama” at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 25, in the art center’s Studio Theatre.

The event, part of the Highlands-Cashiers Chamber Music Festival, will feature Tennyson’s classic poem set to the piano music of Richard Strauss and performed by George Brown, dean of WCU’s College of Fine and Performing Arts, and William Ransom, who holds the position of Anna and Hays Mershon Artistic Director for the festival.

Ticket holders are invited to a wine and cheese reception at intermission and are encouraged to arrive early to experience the summer exhibitions in the WCU Fine Art Museum. The event is sponsored by WCU’s Friends of the Arts.
