Spanish professor presents lectures, reading in Bulgaria

Santiago García-Castañón, professor of Spanish in WCU’s Department of World Languages, recently returned from Bulgaria where he presented the lecture “Miguel de Cervantes y su mundo” and a reading of his poetry as a guest speaker at the University of Sofia.

García-Castañón also presented “El español en la enseñanza universitaria de los EE UU: retos y oportunidades” at the II Encuentro de Profesores de Español en Bulgaria, which was organized by the Spanish Embassy and the Cervantes Institute of Sofia.

A selection of his poetry has been translated into Bulgarian and will be published in that country in the next few months.
