Tau Sigma schedules induction ceremony, scholarship presentation for March 16

Western Carolina University’s chapter of Tau Sigma, a national honor society, will hold an induction ceremony for 39 new members Thursday, March 16.

First established at WCU in 2013, Tau Sigma recognizes the academic achievement of students transferring to WCU from another institution and encourages and promotes classroom excellence and campus involvement. Transfer students who earn a 3.5 or above GPA while enrolled full-time during their first semester receive an invitation to join.

The induction ceremony will be held in the Multipurpose Room of A.K. Hinds University Center beginning at 5:30 p.m. A national Tau Sigma scholarship recipient also will be presented $3,000. Light refreshments will follow the ceremony.
