School of Nursing to host movie screening at Mad Batter

To help show how music can drastically improve the quality of life for those suffering with Alzheimer’s disease, Western Carolina University’s School of Nursing will be hosting a screening of the movie “Alive Inside” at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 28, at Mad Batter Food and Film in downtown Sylva.

The School of Nursing also will be collecting old iPods, music CD’s and iTunes gift cards for a “Music and Memory” project in which they will be donating the items to Autumn Care of Waynesville nursing home. The items will help provide music therapy to patients with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
