Open forums have been scheduled to allow members of the Western Carolina University community to learn about the Catamount School, the new laboratory school being established for children in grades six, seven and eight at Smoky Mountain High School.
The N.C. General Assembly passed legislation establishing eight university “lab” schools across the state. WCU is slated to open the school in August.
Forums will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 16, in the Catamount Room at A.K. Hinds University Center and at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, in the Cardinal Room at the University Center.
