Members of the Western Carolina University community will have an opportunity to learn about the university’s ongoing reaccreditation efforts with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges during an open forum set for Thursday, Feb. 9.
The forum will be held from 2:30 until 3:30 p.m. in the theater of A.K. Hinds University Center. Arthur Salido, director of WCU’s accreditation reaffirmation effort, and Carmen Huffman, chair of a committee implementing the topic for the university’s proposed Quality Enhancement Plan, will share the latest information from the reaccreditation bid.
Salido will talk about progress made toward addressing issues raiaccredised by off-site reviewers in the fall. He and Huffman also will give an update on the QEP proposal, titled DegreePlus. Other remarks will address an onsite visit by a team of external reviewers scheduled for April.
