Western Carolina University’s John W. Bardo Fine and Performing Arts Center will celebrate its 10th anniversary when it hosts The United Kingdom Ukulele Orchestra at 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 25.
The two-hour performance not only features the playing of the bass, baritone, tenor, concert and soprano ukuleles, but the eight-person orchestra also displays its talent as singers and comedians. TUKUO has toured both Europe and the United States, with this year’s show being titled “I Got Uke Babe!”
Their music ranges from Mozart to Monty Python, Bach to the Beatles, Chick Corea to Gioachino Rossini, providing a mix of jazz, classical, pop, rock, film soundtracks, as well as their own compositions.
Tickets for the show are $21 for adults, $16 for WCU faculty and staff, and $7 for students and children. They can be purchased in person at the Bardo Arts Center box office, by calling the box office at 828-227-2479 or online at bardoartscenter.wcu.edu.
