A Western Carolina University student majoring in music performance recently received an undergraduate scholarship from Sigma Alpha Iota Philanthropies Inc.
Katelyn Johnson, a senior from Asheville, was one of 12 recipients from across the country to receive the $1,500 scholarship for the 2015-16 academic year.
“I was really happy when I found out about it,” said Johnson, who said she will use the money to help with her tuition.
