Explore WCU history through a digital archive of yearbooks

College yearbooks provide a fascinating look back at campus life down through the years. Yearbooks published at the educational institution that is now known as Western Carolina University are available online.

The first two were named “Oogoocoo,” which is believed to be a Cherokee word. They were published in 1918 and 1919, when the institution was called Cullowhee Normal and Industrial School. The more familiar “Catamount” was published annually from 1933 until 2002, and in 2005.
