Children ages 6 and older will make a small mosaic plate, draw tessellations and create architectural dioramas around a theme of Middle Eastern aesthetics at a free art program to be held at Western Carolina University on Friday, Feb. 21.
The event, “Mosaics and More,” will be held in Room 150 of the John W. Bardo Fine and Performing Arts Center from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
Sponsored by WCU’s Art Education Club, the event is staffed by WCU students working with WCU’s art education program coordinator. There is no cost to participate, but small donations to assist with materials costs are appreciated.
Enrollment is limited to 25 students. To register a child to participate, send an email to Erin Tapley, associate professor and director of the art education program, at firstname.lastname@example.org. For more information, call 828-506-5748.
