Eight Western Carolina University students and four staff members from the on-campus Small Business and Technology Development Center will serve as volunteers for the Asheville Area Chamber of Commerce’s Business Walk survey on Thursday, Oct. 17.
The students and SBTDC staff members will join more than 100 other volunteers in conducting face-to-face surveys at some 450 businesses in the Asheville area. Owners and managers will be asked three questions, and the results of the survey will help the chamber gauge the business climate and provide input for business assistance programs and state and federal advocacy efforts.
Participating are WCU graduate students Meredith Cauble, Chelsea Dalporto-McDowell, Laura Foster, Cory Lininger, Nicole Miller, Ellie Shown and Alex Whitfield, and senior Lynzie Shuford-Clark.
SBTDC staff members taking part are Wendy Cagle, Patricia Costello, Adrianne Gordon and Noah Raper. The center is a statewide program of the University of North Carolina system.
