The School of Music at Western Carolina University will present Travis Bennett, WCU associate professor of horn, in a solo recital Tuesday, March 19.

The concert will be free and open to the public and will take place in the Coulter Building recital hall starting at 7:30 p.m.

The program will feature new work by Bruce Frazier, WCU’s Carol Grotnes Belk Distinguished Professor of Commercial and Electronic Music, titled “Collage: 4 Textures for Horn and Piano.” Each of the four movements is based on a particular collage that will be projected in a slideshow during the performance.

Also on the program is “Laudatio” by Bernhard Krol, “Intermezzo” by Laurence Lowe, a transcription of a Corelli violin sonata, and “Fantasie, Op. 13” (on themes from “I Puritani” by Vincenzo Bellini) by C.D. Lorenz.

Brad Martin and Andrew Adams, faculty members in the WCU School of Music, will perform on piano for the program.
