Please note: The dates for this course have been changed to Feb. 21 through March 28.

A course in “Creating Stained Glass” will be offered by Western Carolina University’s Office of Continuing and Professional Education on Thursdays beginning Feb. 7 and continuing through March 14.

Classes will be held in the south lobby of the Cordelia Camp Building from 6 to 9 p.m.

Participants will learn about the Tiffany method of stained glass, which involves each piece of glass being wrapped in copper foil and soldered. The course also will cover safety, proper cutting techniques, foiling and soldering techniques, and simple metal framing, as well as types of glass, solders and copper foils.

Students will be expected to purchase their solder, foil and glass. All other tools will be provided and some items will be available for purchase in class.

The instructor for the course, Moya O’Neal, has been working in stained glass more than 20 years.

The cost of the course is $85. To register or for more information, call the Office of Continuing Education at 828-227-7397 or 800-928-4968, or go online to learn.wcu.edu and click on “Conferences and Community Classes.”
