Western Carolina’s 2013 baseball campaign gets under way this weekend, with the Catamounts hosting the Washington State Cougars for a three-game series.
Games are scheduled to begin at Childress Field/Hennon Stadium at 4 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15; 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 16; and 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 17. Start time for the Sunday game has been changed from the time originally announced.
The Catamounts are coming off a 32-24 season a year ago, including a 16-14 mark in conference play. The Southern Conference’s coaches recently voted a league-best five WCU players to this year’s preseason All-Southern Conference team.
Following the opening series against the Cougars, the Catamounts will play one more game at home – on Tuesday, Feb. 19, against Wake Forest of the Atlantic Coast Conference – before heading to Greenville, S.C., for the Greenville Drive Tournament, set to begin Friday, Feb. 22.
