Basketball teams to start seasons with TV games

The Western Carolina men’s and women’s basketball teams are tipping off their seasons with games at the University of North Carolina at Asheville, and both games will be broadcast live from UNCA’s Kimmel Arena by WMYA (My40), the sister station of WLOS-TV in Asheville.
The Catamount men will travel to Asheville to face the Bulldogs at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9. The men’s home opener will come two days later, on Sunday, Nov. 11, when they face Mars Hill College at 7 p.m. at the Ramsey Regional Activity Center. A long road swing will follow that game before the team returns home to face Appalachian State University on Saturday, Dec. 8.
The WCU women will battle UNCA at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Kimmel Arena. The women’s first home game will begin at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 12, when they take on Campbell University.
