Western Carolina University is operating special Cat-Tran shuttles from campus to the voting site located at Cullowhee Recreation Center to help students participate in the election process.

Shuttles will run from the back of A.K. Hinds University Center to the Cullowhee Recreation Center from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. through Thursday, Nov. 1, for early voting.  A shuttle also will run on Election Day (Tuesday, Nov. 6) from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Students who have not yet registered to cast their ballots can still take part in the election by registering to vote early on-site at an early voting site (including the Cullowhee Recreation Center). Students are encouraged to download a voter registration form from http://www.ncsbe.gov and complete it before going to the early voting site.

Those students who live off campus will need to show a N.C. driver’s license and proof of Jackson County address (such as a copy of an apartment lease).  Students who live on campus will need to show a CatCard and provide campus address information.  There is no option for on-site voter registration on Election Day.

For more information, visit the N.C. Board of Elections website, which has sample ballots and allows voters to check their registration status, at http://www.ncsbe.gov.
