WCU accounting students to perform service work Sept. 21

A group of Western Carolina University accounting students will be joining forces with local certified public accountants in performing volunteer work Friday, Sept. 21.

The WCU students, including both undergraduates and graduate students enrolled in the university’s master of accountancy program, will be assisting several local organizations and causes, including Manna FoodBank, the WCU trail system that is currently under construction, the Catman 2 Shelter, Habitat for Humanity and Stop Hunger Now.

N.C. Gov. Beverly Perdue has proclaimed Sept. 21 as the North Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants’ Day of Service.
