MacNeill re-elected chair of trustees
Joan MacNeill, community leader and entrepreneur from Webster, was re-elected to serve a second consecutive one-year term as chair of the Western Carolina University Board of Trustees.
Election of officers was among the first orders of business for the board Friday, Sept. 7, during its first meeting of the 2012-13 academic year.
The board re-elected Mecklenburg County community leader Teresa Williams to a second term as vice chair, and Ed Broadwell, chairman and CEO of HomeTrust Bank, to a second term as secretary.
“This board has some important work going forward,” MacNeill said after being re-elected. “We have lots of challenges ahead, but we also have lots of opportunities with the leadership we now have in position here.”
MacNeill also served previously as chair of the trustees in 2007 and 2008.
